Radio commercials - how it works
Radio advertising - the process
Are you thinking about radio advertising? TMP have made thousands of radio spots during the past 25 years, so you're in the right place! Keep reading if you would like to find out more about what our process looks like from start to finished radio advertising.
Start-up meeting - brief
During the start-up meeting, we discuss what the customer wants to achieve with their radio advertising. We define the target audience and whether it's a strategic or tactical campaign. What does the customer want their target audience to know and feel when they hear the radio spot? We also discuss and decide if the customer wants us to create an audio identity / sound logo for the sake of recognition.
Script for radio advertising
We summarise the start-up meeting and decide in what way the radio spot should fit in with the customer's other marketing material. We then produce a proposal for a script. The script can be swung back and forth and when it has been approved by the customer it is time to book a suitable speaker voice for the radio commercial.
Casting of voices to radio commercials
Explore our voice archive to quickly and easily get a selection of suitable commercial voices your production. You can filter by voice characters and different reading styles. Smart isn't it? There are several things to consider in this process. Is it one or several voices you want for your commercial? Should it be a male or a female voiceover? Should the voice speak with a dialect or sound neutral? What reading style should the voice have?
We find the perfect voice that can communicate the message your radio spot should convey. Do you want help with voice casting? Contact us, we'd be happy to help you.
Recording commercial voices
When you have chosen voice for your recording and the script is ready, it is time for recording. Feel free to participate in the session in one of our sound studios or just call in via Skype or phone. By participating you can have the chance to direct and influence the end result. TMP have experienced directors in place who can assist with directing the voices for radio advertising. Do you want to know more about how to succeed with your voice recording? Read our five tips!
Production & post production of radio advertising
Now TMP put together the entire production consisting of speaker readings, music, audio logos and sound effects. We mix and master the sound for optimal sound for. Once the customer has approved the radio spot, we upload the spot on Adtoox which is where the radio stations pick up radio spots.
The important follow-up!
How did it go? Was the campaign successful? We keep up the dialogue with our customers and prefer to work long term to find opportunities to further build on the concept. One way to stretch the campaign is to develop the sound logo by producing different versions. Listen below to our case Taxi courier. TMP have produced their sound logo in a wide variety of genres, from hard rock to dance bands and everything in between! An example of a very successful recurring radio campaign.
